Just as with Weblearn module content, reading lists are rolled over from one academic year to the next. This process is carried out by Library Services annually in late May. Reading lists are rolled over in Draft format by default and the new version must be published by academic staff to be visible to students.
As soon as the duplicate reading lists have been rolled over for the new academic year, academic staff are free to review the content for the forthcoming teaching year and make amendments. Simply log in to Talis and search on the module code. Choose the draft reading list with next year’s academic year showing in parentheses.
When checking your reading lists for the upcoming year, please remember to specify where you require the new edition of a particular book for teaching on the module. You can do this by either adding a new bookmark for the new edition of the book, or by using the Library Note function on the existing bookmark.
Note: it is not necessary to create a brand new reading list for a module that is running from one year to the next, as a duplicated rolled over copy will be created for each existing module code.
Remember to select the blue 'Publish' button to make any changes visible to students.
Reading lists from the earlier academic year will remain available through the summer and will only be archived once exam resits have finished.
