Library opening hours

Holloway Road and Aldgate libraries 

 

Summer vacation (Monday June 2nd-Sunday 28th September)

Monday June 2nd - Friday August 29th: Monday to Friday 8am* to 9pm (*Aldgate Library opens at 9am)
Bank Holiday Monday 25th August -  Libraries closed
Monday September 1st - Friday September 26th: Monday to Friday 8am* to 11.30pm (*Aldgate Library opens at 9am)
Library staff available Holloway Road: 9am to 7pm
Library staff available Aldgate: 9am to 5pm
The last weekend of opening is Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th of May
The first weekend opening is Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th of October

 

Term time opening from Monday 29th September 2025

Monday to Friday 8am* to 11.30pm (*Aldgate Library opens at 9am)
Library staff available: 9am to 7pm
Library chat and email support: 10am to 6pm

 

Weekend opening (term time)

Saturday and Sunday 11am to 6.30pm
Library staff available: 12pm to 4pm on Saturdays at Holloway 
Library chat and email support: 12.30pm to 3.30pm on Saturdays 

 

 

Special Collections Opening Hours

Please note we will be closed to visitors from 01-31 August 2025. 


Our Reading Room is located on the First Floor (LC1-04) of Holloway Road Learning Centre.

Students and staff are welcome to drop into Special Collections, but are encouraged to email in advance to access rare books and archive material. Selected material is held offsite and will require at least 3 days notice to retrieve.

Admission for external visitors is via email consultation and registration.
